ADJUSTMENT METHOD OF FAN BELT OF DIESEL GENERATOR SET

If the fan belt of diesel generator set is too loose, it will slip and cause the speed of fan and water pump to decrease, which will affect the heat dissipation performance of generator set Too tight will also aggravate the wear of shaft and bearing. Therefore, the fan belt of diesel generator set must keep normal tightness to ensure the normal operation of cooling system.

The adjustment method of the tightness of the fan belt of diesel generator is as follows: press down or pull up the middle of the belt with a force of 30-50 Newtons, and the difference between the belt and the original position is 15- 20 mm, and the tightness of the belt is regarded as normal, otherwise it should be adjusted.

The methods are divided into three types according to different structures:

One is provided with a tension wheel structure. Loosen the fixing nut, turn the adjusting screw, and move the tensioner up and down to achieve the required tightness;

Secondly, the fan and the generator are driven by the same belt, which can move the generator bracket and change the position of its belt pulley to achieve the required tightness;

Third, the pulley is composed of two halves. First, loosen the fixing bolts, and then rotate the adjustable half pulley, so as to change the groove width of the synthesized pulley, thus lifting the V-belt to achieve the required tightness. If the belt is seriously worn or broken, it should be replaced in time. Some diesel engine fan belts have two belts, which must be replaced at the same time, so as to avoid the failure caused by different tightness and uneven force.

In production practice, it often happens that the high temperature of the water tank is not low. Stop for inspection, adjust the belt tightness, and the phenomenon that the machine temperature is too high will be eliminated immediately. However, if the belt is too tight, the wear of shaft and bearing will be aggravated. At the same time, the side surfaces on both sides of V-belt are excessively rubbed with pulley grooves, which is easy to damage the belt and consume power. Therefore, during the use of diesel engine, the tightness of fan belt should be checked in time. So as to ensure the normal operation of the V-belt and improve the overall performance of the diesel engine.
